Fiber Expansion Update: Connecting Dog Canyon
We’re proud to announce that our Construction Team is hard at work, expanding fiber service into the Dog Canyon area, just south of Alamogordo. This project brings us one step closer to our mission of providing reliable, high-speed internet access to every corner of our community.
We are also starting construction in West Alamogordo and West La Luz, (west of Highway 70/54), our plan is to have these two areas fully connected within this year.

Teaching Cyber Safety: Kids, Schools & the Future!
We are proud to launch our new Cybersecurity Program!
Fibee, our friendly alien mascot, has been on a mission to share cybersecurity tips with students across our service areas. Most recently, we visited Cloudcroft Municipal Schools to teach kids how to be smart and safe online.
Through fun, hands-on activities, Fibee showed kids how to create strong passwords, avoid online scams, and protect their personal information. We believe that when kids understand how the internet works, they grow into confident, capable digital citizens.

Community Events and Milestones (January–May 2025)
- Southeast NM Telecom Providers Meeting: Hosted a meeting in Tularosa with local providers and officials to discuss legislation, fiber projects, and broadband issues. Attended by state senators, mayors, and regional telecom organizations.
- FCC Meeting in Washington, D.C.: GM Daniel Meszler met with FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and other leaders to discuss collaboration and broadband expansion for rural areas.
- Alamogordo High School & Rotary Club Presentation: Educated students about Tularosa Communications, fiber technology, and shared essential cybersecurity tips.
- Valentine’s Day at Tularosa Senior Center: Fibee and Alex handed out flowers and chocolates, spreading joy and kindness to seniors.
- Love INC Gala — “Love Affair to Remember”: Sponsored a casino night and murder mystery fundraiser supporting Love INC. Mayor Susan Payne recognized for the successful event.
- Alamogordo Rotary Club Presentation: Shared company updates, 2024 event highlights, and introduced new fiber internet projects, along with cybersecurity education.
- Earn & Learn Program at NMSU Alamogordo: Participated in student mentorship and engagement program to promote local career development.
- Company-Wide Meeting at Casa De Sueños: Shared department updates, introduced new team members, and heard from Legal Shield during a breakfast event.
- Best Internet Provider Award — Otero County: Voted Best Internet Provider by the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce. Alex and Kody accepted the award; Fibee displayed it in the office.
- Award Display by Fibee: Fibee proudly hung the Best Internet Provider award in the Alamogordo office lobby to celebrate the honor.
- THRIVE Colorfest 5K Fun Run: Sponsored this vibrant community event filled with color, fun, and unity.
- NTCA Legislative & Policy Conference in Washington, D.C. : Represented New Mexico and advocated for the Universal Service Fund with broadband providers from across the country.
- Cybersecurity Program Launch — Cloudcroft Career Day: Introduced new educational program on online safety, led by Fibee, during Cloudcroft School’s Career Day.
- Tularosa Duck Race: Sponsored and hosted a booth at this fun local event, engaging with the community while cheering on rubber duck racers.
- Pioneer Title Charity Golf Classic: Participated in a charity golf tournament, represented by four team members, in support of community causes.
- THRIVE Y Fiesta – Gold Donor Award: We were honored with the Gold Donor Award by the Helen Kirk Circle of Excellence, recognizing our outstanding service and commitment to our community.
- New Mexico Family Friendly Business Award: Once again recognized as a Platinum-level recipient, this award celebrates our continued dedication to supporting our team through exemplary family-friendly workplace policies.
Celebrating Naomi’s Retirement
After nearly 19 years of dedicated service, we’re wishing a heartfelt farewell to Naomi, our HR Manager, who will be retiring this year. Naomi joined Tularosa Communications in December 2006 and has been an essential part of our team ever since. She’s known for her warmth, professionalism, and love for her work.
We’ll miss her deeply, but we’re excited for all that lies ahead.

Fibee crash – landed on Earth in September of 2024, and since then, he’s become an integral part of our team.
We’re overflowing with joy as he’s been embraced by the community, and it’s clear that Earth has become his new home.
Fibee is fascinated by our world, our values, traditions, and the sense of belonging that pulses through everything we do. He’s especially amazed by one thing: our fiber internet technology. The thought of being able to video call home anytime he wants has made him feel even more connected to us. With that newfound freedom, Fibee has decided to stay longer, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
The bond we share with Fibee will only grow stronger, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things we’ll accomplish together. The adventure is just beginning!
